Westminster Abbey organ scholar Carolyn Craig appointed Junior Fellow at RBC
American organist and organ scholar of Westminster Abbey, Carolyn Craig has been appointed Junior Fellow at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University. She will take up the appointment in January 2024.
Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and with degrees from Indiana and Yale Universities, Carolyn Craig is a former organ scholar at both Truro Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral and now has a busy schedule of international tours, broadcasts and teaching alongside her duties at Westminster Abbey. She strives for inclusivity in her programming and in her approach to her work and is co-founder of Amplify Female Composers and a contributor to the inclusive church music planning resource A Great Host of Composers.
Carolyn Craig said: “It is an honour to become a Junior Fellow of Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Having worked with the RBC’s international organ faculty in the UK, the US, and Germany, I can say with confidence that the quality of teaching is absolutely stellar. With an expanding collection of instruments and an ever-vibrant course of study, it is an exciting time to become involved. I look forward to contributing to this academic community and to nurturing my own growth as a Junior Fellow.”
